Local restaurateur John Avoletta, the owner of Hoboken’s favorite rooftop bar City Bistro, remembers that when he was a kid, his grandmother would steal his winter coat to cover her rising pizza dough. With this memory in the back of his head, after countless pies of his own and two decades in the restaurant business, he’s opened his first Italian kitchen and pizzeria, Johnny Pepperoni, in 2010.​ After 11 years, John decided to give Johnny Pepperoni a new look, by still ensuring it’s Italian charm and dedication to providing an excellent dining experience, serving the best Italian comfort classics in the heart of Hoboken.
